oil problem!!

Hi, iv had my car for a year now and its been burning oil since iv had it from new.. every day blue smoke would come out of the exhaust when i first start and with it still being under warrenty iv taken it to renault garages all the time but they wouldnt do sh*t! They said it was still under renaults limit for the amount of oil used against the miles, so they just topped up the oil... After the 5th time it went in they finally did "something" about it... think they replaced the cylinders but the guy i was talking to me didnt seem to know?? a month later i got the oil bar flashing up again and the service lights on ?!!!! what can i do.. help!?!?

the car is not right if the oil is getting low enuf to get the oil light on! and that should be sorted under a warranty. put a complain into renault threatening watchdog etc and they may well take you more seriously. if all else fails drive it till it blows up and they will have to repair it under warranty.

Dealers hate spending money. Thats the way it is

cheers guys, think ill just complain like a b**ch to renault! nope there is no visible leaks but i think by the blue smoke it must be getting into the exhaust...

gona get complaining *again*!

Cheers!

I am writing from Portugal, where I am having the same problem with my Clio 1.2 16V.

My car has always consumed a LOT of oil. Every 5000 Kms or so the oil level drops to minimum and I go back to Renualt to fill it up. Renault says that could be normal, regarding its a 16V.

I feel like they are bull****ing me.

Now the car has 45.000 km and since yesterday it DOES NOT START!!!

It is currently repairing at Renault. I dont know yet what was the matter, but it seems I am not the only one with these problems (one other person in a PT forum reported it too - still has no clue what is going on, Renault does not provide satisfying answers).

I wonder if this is a frequent factory fault that Renault is aware of, and is trying to lead us into believing that it may be "normal".

The blue smoke I have never noticed ( or looked for it, anyway)...

Do you have any news regarding this problem?

Thanks!

phone up reno uk and play hell! or take it to another reno garage near by. You need to be firm with them or they will just fob you off.
