Oil pump drive Question

Car  Vee 6
I'm stripping down my original engine to find out what caused the bottom end to let go.

It's picked up badly on the No 3 shells ( Along with some others ) but i've noticed the oil pump drive wheel for the pump is spinning on the crank, It's only stripped down so far so can't see it full yet, How does this gear mesh with the crank ? is it keyed or is it on a taper ?

Really need to get a manual.

Cheers

Not Sure fella, I think the drive wheel floats on the crank, Anyway No3 big end bearing got fried....Big time.

Got another crank here to build it back up.

Will be in touch soon about that g/box rebuild.
