Oil smells of petrol

Hi all.

changed the oil recently in the clio so thought id check the dip stick this morning engine stone cold and noticed the level seems slightly higher thab I expected. Gave it a wipe on a clean rag and the residue has a petrol smell to it.

is this normal at all or a common symptom of something a miss

It " could be " an injector issue. To much fuel in the bore would wash the bore out and could get past the rings and into the sump if the rings are a bit worn. How many miles is ya engine on ?
