Oil temp gauge problems, drops to zero when booted up

I have an 05 plate 182 ff with cup pack, had it oh, 3 weeks. When accelerating hard the oil temp sensor reads that the temp drops to 0 then it middles again, actually slightly below middle. Then if changing gear when accelerating the sensor fluctuates, anyone else had this problem? Its under warranty, but want to know what it is, hoping its the resonance from the engine at 4000rpm playing havoc with the sensor and needs replaced toher than that i have no idea!

You mean the water temp gauge, or you've got an additional oil temp one?

Its the coolent temperatrue sensor there a common failure check the sensor (itts on the passnger side of the engine at the top check the wires are ok if they look fine change the sensor common problem though on them.
