Oil Top-Up

  2007 Clio Sport 197
Hi all,

I'm new in this Forum. I bought a clio sport 2007 197 four months ago. Yesterday I saw in the dashboard the message "TOP UP OIL LEVEL" so I suppouse that I need to change the oil. Unfortunatly I don't know which one I have to use.

The car has 55.300 miles and it has 8.600 left for the servicing. Should I make a complete service right now? Which kind of oil should I use?

Thank you very much in advance.

a fully synthetic 5w40 oil is what you need. Price and brand is down to personal choice though some are better than others and it depends on what you can get hold of

check the oil dipstick, if its on minimum id just go and buy 1 litre.
if its between min and max, again just buy one litre, just add a little at a time and check the dipstick as you, allowing a moment or two for the oil to reach the sump tho.

your issue is no big saga, just purely needs a little top up.

While you're at it I would check the levels of your other fluids as well - it sounds like you've not opened the bonnet since buying it. :)

Any old service invoices with the car ? Ring garage with last service stamp if you want to be sure.

Renault dealers like to put 10w40 semi in.
