Oiling foam filter

Just bought a foam itg cone filter, it says to spray oil on it to stop really small bits of dust n crap getting in. Just wondering what oil can I use? It says to use itg stuff but anyone used anything else? Ran it with out oil?

Lol! I think it would serve its purpose for a while but it would no doubt screw up your MAF sensor.

NO! That will just get sucked off the filter and into the throttle body. Then clog up!

I was joking. Local shop has got some k&n filter oil, that will do, £6 though!

Pipercross filter oil would be better than K&N as arn't K&N filters paper?
