now i have been told its done some damage whatever belt it was that smashed so i need a new engine and im not putting a 1.2 8v back in my old man is saying put a 1.6 16v engine in there but would this be the best move or do you think i should go for something else what do you think i aint buying a new car just an engine. my car is a mk 2 phase 1 clio only sensible ideas please people and i want it to have a little poke and tuning possiblitie not mayjor stuff just not 100% standard

Stick the same in or 2.0. Even sticking a 2.0 172/182 engine in is a bit of a waste often due to cost.

na im doing all the work myself i have seen a 1.6l 16v engine for £175 might do it but not sure how mucg poke a 1.6 has or tuning potential what you reackon gonna cost nearly £1000 to get my 1.2 engine going again

Well its more than just the engine its wiring etc.

1.6 has potential depend how much a 2.0 better for Hp though always.
