Forgot to add the 2L 16V Rover engine in the Meastro was rated at 150bhp which is the same as the 8V Turbo, but was lighter with much better fuelling being injection and not an SU carb. The car was well under 1000kgs and the Turbo would do 0-60 is 6.7seconds and I doubt was any quicker than my father-in-laws. He said it was his goal to have minimum Turbo performance with much improved fuel economy. The originally fitted 'O' series 2L had 115bhp and would do 0-60mph in 8.5seconds.

And as it is old school hatches it would be rude not to post pics of my integrale.

Omfg @Ph1 Tom That fiesta sounds beyond amazing! [emoji7] [emoji7] [emoji7]

It was a great little car and very practical too!

Why oh why did you get rid of the fiesta?!

It got to the point where a bit of rust was starting to come through. I decided to break it and sold the shell on. I was only the second owner from new and it was never welded...

What's the deal with that red Escort? Looks amazing!

2.0 conversion, cams, manifolds, coilovers, big brakes and buckets.

I love morettes on mk5/6 escorts.

I modified the mk6 morettes to take mk5 indicators. Otherwise you have to fit separate indicators in the bumper.

That Mk2 Fiesta looks awesome! Very subtle. I really like it

Miss it, if I was to get another old Ford it would be a mk3 escort.

That fiesta is incredible mate! I bloody love them!

Cheers! They're proper cool little cars, used to get loads of attention.

Would hate to see this in a rear view mirror. Looks so intimidating.

Well seeing as it's now all cool retro cars, be rude not to.

You'd have liked some of my dad's cars very much. He had a few capri and escorts.... Hate him for having no pictures of any though.
He did show me what his capri looked like in a retro Ford mag once. Was the 3.0 one which he had sprayed in blue and white touring car livery. Similar to this IIRC

Must have looked awesome

@massivewangers I always like the mk1 mondeo shape. Probably the best shape. There was a mint green one in a old Max power feature that was good for 180mph if I remember correctly.

Cheers. Mine started life as a 1.8 LX but my friend had converted it to Ghia X spec inside so it had heated, electric leather, trip computer etc etc. They were such great cars too.

Yes, I know the car you mean, had Cosworth running gear. It's still about, lives in Ireland these days but doesn't have such a high-spec engine in it now.

I remember that car, Reyland Motorsport built it :) Their Repsol-esque looking Sierra & Escort magazine cars were the nuts!!

What an amazing sleeper, even with the lairy paint, body kit and vented bonnet, there's no way you'd be expecting that thing to be quick, I bet that's upset a few people away from the lights.

You're not wrong there. At it's peak it was a sub-4 second 0-60, 180mph which, at the time it was built, was unbelievably fast, let alone today!

Went and did a few photos of this today for a mag, so so cool. Orion Equipe with Cossie 4x4 wheels, Cossie brakes, coilovers and a 2.0 Zetec engine. Soon to be fitted with a supercharger. All original inside, evendown to the tape player. Still has dealer plates and stickers, just so understated and subtle. I want it!

I had the Escort Eclipse in that colour as a 17yo, the same as that onion but an escort obviously,
Can't help but thinking if I'd had those wheels on it I'd have got loads more poontang.

I knew a lad with a blue Eclipse many years ago. His had S2 RST wheels on it. The Orion Equipe benefitted from the mighty 1.4 CVH, the Eclipse was a 1.3 wasn't it?

Sadly, seeing that car has made me look through some old pictures from when I was in the Orion club, so here are some of them! If you don't like Orions then I'm sorry. Actually, I'm not sorry at all, they're awesome.

That looks lovely!

I was always more of a MK3 guy myself but I did have two MK2s; an Equipe and a 1600E.

Orions get a bit of stick but I've always had a real soft spot for them.

A 1400 equippe minter
A white 1600i mk2 E plate
And then that red one above.

They get under your skin, I love them.
