are new front wings still plastic, there is a crack and a kind of metal esq fold?? Still doesnt look like anything has been hit. To make the front wheel come off like that would involve some significant frontal impact, although those scratches indicate that something could have scraped along it and if the wheel was turned out to the right slightly, something could have taken it off.

didn't hit anythin. Wheel gave out when going round a corner! Its a brand new mk3 ripcurl less than 2 months old!

ive seen a lot on salvage websites in a similar state. looks like the ball joint has snapped, the audi a3 used to have a problem with it.

I'd get them to dump that outside Renault thats shocking some serious parts failure there if he didnt hit anything imagine what could'ave happened if he was on a motorway or country lane.

just found out that the car did swerve n lightly hit another car after the wheel gave out. He apparently turned left n the car went right. he is going to dump it at renault tho.

They didnt fall off arnold clark are just shite at inspecting cars befpre they sell them !

as you say im guessing a previous fracture caused the failiure.

also guessing that must be bottom arm/balljoint related. i had a tie bar snap on a mini at speed - not a pleasant experience.

it's a very serious failure - Renault will want to inspect it thoroughly. i'd be v surprised if they don't do all they can to help.

Thats shocking that mate, if i were him say u swerved and hit a curb at 30 and uv hurt ur neck, bit of a compo claim wnt do no1 any harm part from renault!
