One Complete Cup

  Evo 8 MR
Picked up the much needed splitter and an offside wheel arch today so I fitted them promptly.

Xenons and silvervisions were fitted on Saturday too. :)

Quick question, where on earth can I get some Bosch Aerotwin wipers that will retro fit the clio?

Still waiting for Kam Racing to get the coilovers posted. :(

3/4 front plate is in the post from fancyplates.com.

bosch aeros are a pants fit! theyre too long and seem to leave random corners of dirt in the wipe area!

Looks so much better with the headlights from a 182.

Expensive?

Nope, very cheap and were, in fact still are, in mint condition. ;)

the camber looks wrong on the front in those pics? :S

Camber? It's all standard. :S

I've found out today that Bosch or anyone else don't seem to make them for the Clio, I guess normal wipers it is then?

had the front just been jack up before the photos were taken? looks really high! and as said, the front camber looks very odd. too much +camber by the looks of things.

looks great tho, will look stunning on the coilovers.

Yeah I just dropped it but I gave both sides a quick bounce before I took the pics as I know it never seems to sit right after being jacked up but the cups sit higher at the front as standard anyway.

With regards to the camber comments I'll be getting it setup once the coilovers are on but it may just be due to it being dropped off the jack.

i dont rate the aero wipers. they dont wipe properly at high speeds, they flap around on the glass. i find normal wipers work better.

Looks like its running positive camber. probs the pic angle.

Looks good though. id got to tesco to get some flat blade wipers. cheap and not bad

tesco wipers are fine, think you need 21" but there are loads of threads on it. they dont flap at high speed and look the same. i was happy with them!

Looking good mate. Once you get your coilovers on it'll sort that weird stance Cups have as standard.

Just a question about the xenons though, do you have to have headlight washers jets with xenons for M.O.T purposes?

Thanks Ady!

Just bought the ebay ones, hope they work okay.

Only if you want to. ;)

A quick word in the testers ear before it goes on and it'll be fine. The 3/4 plate wasn't an issue last time either.

i think you do!

I think most will be fine with it tbh, as long as you ask them beforehand I'm sure 90% of testers wouldn't be fussed about certain things. If they were arsey about it then it would just be a case of swapping back for MOT.

yes you should apparantly have washer jets with xenons. i dont and havent had any problems with mot on my 182, and it came with xenons as standard.

A sl*ggy 172 Cup with xenons, a cage and 2118's is right up there in my 'want' list.

You're on your way!

i think cups should have all come with xenons as standard makes a big difference to the car. ive got them on my 182 cup and didnt have a problem at mot time!

car will look very smart once the coilovers are on btw!

Coilovers are in the post, yay! :D

Just checked the tyre pressure and the rears were at 40 psi!

The fronts weren't much better at 34 psi.

I've adjusted the front to 31 and the rear to 30, feels a lot more planted now. Maybe that was why the tyres felt rather poor, I'll have to put it to the test.

God only knows why someone would put more pressure in the rear of a fwd front engined small hatchback. :S

Because it was probably driven quickly or tracked often as you can go much quicker with tyres set up like that! Higher rear pressures make the car much more pointy with better turn in etc plus the rears do barely any work in a fwd hatchback as all the accelerating, turning and most of the braking is done by the front wheels so the fronts heat up much more so the rears need to be higher otherwise you would end up with much higher pressures at the front that the rear.

Please nobody try and tell me I am wrong as I spent 3 years racing and winning in a small fwd front engined hatchback and never went on track with out the rears less that 6psi higher than the fronts

Yeah I totally take my cup on the track every day innit yo.

Your opinion is void.

Arrghghh I got offered some 182 xenons and I turned them down because I didn't think they'd suit the cup with them being light grey instead of black

Yours looks pretty good though!

Your missing the point somewhat. I'm explaining exactly why someone would do it. Not telling you that it's a good idea for the road or suitable for you and the way you drive your car.

A little something turned up this afternoon. :D

Aero's are no good!? Are people serious!!!???

I got a set of Ripspeed specials for the clio, they were only 18" though so i stuck them on my mums fiesta, going to get some proper sized ones off ebay.

Your Cup will look superb once it's on coilies... really needs dropping.

Sorry but I don't think Cups look like Cups with xenons.
