Hello all,
sorry for my lack of forum participation recently.
my clio is not in a goos way!
drove it round to my drive the other day, gave it a nice clean so it was looking a bit healthyer.
Started it up to move it back to where i park it..
wouldnt start. Dad thought i flooded it so i started it on full throttle, not any power atall.
Popped the bonnet, my induction kit, bolted to the top of the throttle body was a bit loose.. one of the vlots had come very loose and fallen in.
CRAP
I have now removed the inlent manifold. Can see the offending item jamming open a valve. Tryed removing it with pliers, but it wasnt happening.
OFF WITH ITS HEAD
Now i have taken off the exhaust mani, and the head. My next mission is to take the cam shaft out.
Wasnt up for that last night, so instead i now have a shiny polished rocker cover!!
Going to clean up the inlet mani and clean up the rotten casting on its inside and around the valves on the head.
(The price of thes adventure keeps growing! New valve, may need a new piston, if this one (has some marking) fails, and if im not lucky will need some new valve guides... grone)
To top all this off, my only experience of car mechanics was lowering my car and servicing it.
so with my trusted haynes manual its becomming a good project (tho i would rather be driving it around)
