so i mean what do people tihnk about it? seems ok to me, certainly not what i was hoping for (i.e. rediesigned hardware, thinner lighter, bigger screen)...not sure if i'll go back to iphone (had a 2g, have since moved on to blackberrys, hada bold, now have a 8900), just doesn't seema massive benefit. Am i missing something?

Hmm, some how I think I expected a bit to much.
I thought it would be massively different, but apart from a few new features, and the 3MP cam am I right in thinking all the features they have added you were able to get by jail breaking it in the first place ?

Dunno what to do! TBH wasn't expecting to pay more than a ton with the 35 quid contract. I don't use it enough to justify the higher contract.
Does look sweet though. What puts me off is that if I get this now, next year I'll have to wait 6 months to get the next gen, a further 6 months for the gen after that etc etc so in a couple of years I'll be well behind...

Theres very little point upgrading from a 3G to a 3GS. Obviously people will and now you're all hating on it because o2 won't let you upgrade! lol.. I have said that since the dawn on time.
3.0 is the best bit. Theres nothing wrong with the 3G.
There was never going to be a mass redesign. 90% of the front is screen, what else can you do? Making it bigger etc won't work as it would ruin all the Apps that are specifically created for the res. I wanted a glowing Apple but all that would do is attract people to mug you. A nice big white iPhone is subtle :rasp:

Don't be so sure. I hardly ever use the camera anyway. In fact, the most important thing I've ever done with it is take a picture of my shoes for Scutch :dapprove:

I just paid pretty much that amount for a white, fully unlocked 3G from Italy, 3.0 is more than enough for me
I'm glad I didn't wait for the 3G S Now.

What about buying one on payg and then getting a 12 month simplicity contract? That way there's no worrying about upgrading to next years model and you get 800 mine and 1600 texts for £20. 260 quid extra for the 16gb though.

Think the highlight of the compass is more to do with the GPS knowing which direction you're facing, as tbh 99% of the population never use a compass!
Anyone found any examples of the video quality? Couldn't find any on the apple site.

I'll be buying TomTom and from the wording used on their official website I think the cradle must have a improved GPS receiver built-in to it.
