When the new iPhone comes out, what do you think the options will be for iPhone 3G owners? Do you think there will be a scheme to trade in and get the new model or will I have to go down the "I dropped it" and claim on insurance method?

Insurance won't get you a new, upgraded model. They'll give you another 3G.

Id say you're stuck with it. They might let you upgrade early, but you'll be paying a heavy price.

tbh, i would always like more space. only got about 3gb left on my 16gb iphone. always seem to want more. you can't have enough music... ever!!

Mine has decided to start giving a blank screen intermittantly when you come out of email or mms. Doesn't respond to the back button, will respond to the power button. Also if you swipe the screen it will go over to the next menu but swipe back across and the first menu page is still blank :S

Who has one, knows an ebayer or website selling one at a reasonable price?

So far i've found about 3 Aus/Italian ebayer's selling them, but you're looking around £500 for an 8gb.
Can anyone better this?

By sim free i mean unlocked by apple in the factory, not yellown0w'd or turbo sim'd...I want to be able to upgrade whenever it's available and use my TMobile sim

I've been running the same software unlock for the last 5 months on T-mobile. No Updates. Its not missed a beat! I still have no reason to update. I don't even know what has been added since V2.2!!!!
I considered a proper sim free before I got mine, but its really not worth it £500!! £357 was what I paid altogether. I've also signed up for the OS 3.0 unlock when it does come out I'll have it.

a genius told me the apple store will let you upgrade but it'll cost x amount of monies

I wondered if that might happen. I might be tempted if the hardware upgrade is significantly different - could do with 32GB for a start!

They'll drop a fair bit in value when the new model(s) come out but i'm sure a 3G will still be worth a few quid at least.

the iphone is steve jobs love child. it would be suprising if he didnt announce it, and he isnt scheduled back in time for WWDC. so in theory either there will be big suprises at WWDC, or there will be a seperate iphone launch? who knows?

Anyways, my questions:

I got my mate to put all his music on my phone last night, and I know that if I sync it with my laptop, it will delete all of the songs off it right?
Is there an option to sync it, but to copy all the music on it to my laptop, and not delete them off the phone?

I'm only jailbroken for themes & SwirlyMMS.

When you plug it into your PC it will want to wipe it and start again. You'll need a seperate program to transfer the songs from iPhone to PC.
