Only for experts: Maybe the answer to all my problems

  RS4 480hp,STI 420hp,ELISE
Since a while, my 182 has so many faults, I become crazy of it.
It started 5 months ago, when all the lights on the dash came on and the car refused to restart. They changed the alternator and aux belt.

But I always heard a fwiiiiiiii sound when turning or driving slow or whatever. They couldn't help me with that sound.

A few weeks ago the cat light came on. Possible, because I have the 2nd sensor disconnected. But I posted a problem that the engine stopped running sometimes. Now Fred asked me if the auxbelt was ok. I thought it would be, because they replaced it.

Tuesday, the light of the electronicfault (orange and looks like a graph) came on and my revs went up and down as crazy. I couldn't drive harder than 30mph... and the engine stopped again.

I brought it to the dealer and they promised to look at it and at the same time they would replace my cam belt. Today I had a phonecall from the dealer. The only fault they could find was the 2nd lambdasensor and they think the engine stops because of that. Can't believe it, because many others have it disconnected.

Now it comes. I wasn't able to pick up the car, because they had to change the auxbelt. But they said they changed it 5 months ago. Looks like they didn't!!!

Now my question: That belt was on the car for 75 000 miles (and has to be replaced on 35000mph)!!!. Fred, can this belt cause my problems, as you asked me if the belt was ok?

They think they didn't replace it. It doens't look that bad, but it doen't look new either. They think for 95% forgot to change it

Thank you very much

if it snaps, then theres a 90% chance it gets sucked into the cambelt and ruins the engine

but it sounds like you have some sort of sensor problem

2nd lambda sensor has nothing to do with the engine not running, BUT damage to the cable can cause the engine to shut down

noise from the aux belt area will be the idler pulley more than likely, it sound to me as if they've changed the belt, not the entire aux belt kit (tensioner, idler pulley etc)

hum, it sounds like a combination of problems then, electrical and mechanical

coilpack, spark plugs, HT leads, TDC sensor etc etc

They changed sparkplugs, so maybe emissionlight will go out now.
I will also let them change TDC sensor.

I attached a picture. The thing on the picture made a very loud zooming noise a few weeks ago. Car wasn't running, only contact on.
