Ended up getting into an impromptu cleaning session on the car. I'm not too prissy with it, I hate cleaning cars and through the winter I do just smash it through the local scratch and spin. This is followed by a spring time touch up and correction with a polisher. Took it to the local car wash early this morning with my own products, mit's and towels just because I couldn't be arsed to get my pressure washer out and setup, that plus I need to drive the car around to the front of the house, blocking the drive.

First track day of the year for the Clio and out to Castle Combe with Javelin. This was my first track day with the meg 280 turbo conversion and it did not disappoint. The car was pretty faultless all day, smashing in lap after lap. The day started foggy and damp, with a delayed start due to visibility. Managed to smash load of laps in whilst it cleared. Had plenty of fun driving around more expensive machinery, understandable as you wouldn't want to end up off track in your expensive Porsche/Lotus/McLaren. By lunch time a dry line had appeared so I swapped on the semi slicks. WOW the grip from these MRFs are amazing, though if you don't have heat in the rears, the car will come around...... Sticky and great once warm though. The brakes (mintex 1166) were lacking initial bite, I think I was in a bit of a situation with them where they need heat to work well but the road brake fluid was getting a little warm. It never failed to pull up, I just didn't like the feel it gave me. Other than loosing 2 wheel centres and needing to replace my near 20 year old sparco clubman helmet, it was a great day. I'm bolloxed but the car is taking a beating and soldiering on

I dont feel the rest of the car suits them tbh. They seem quite "tall" in my mind.

Car looks great. I do think they need a slightly larger spoiler, but agree the Cup spoiler looks a bit off. I've not seen any aftermarket options either.

I think they could suit an early 172 cup style, duck tail type spoiler, but yeah, not sure its an option from anyone

Jumped back on with the commute today but noticed a metal on metal sound when braking. Got home and whipped the Mintex pads out of the front callipers, they are destroyed, cracked and coming away from the backing...... Threw in my road pads anyway. Jacked the rear to find the NSR with the inner pad completely gone and the outer with loads of life and the OSR binding quite badly 
So... order placed for 2 new rear callipers, some Motul 600 fluid and im going to give some PBS pads a shot. Pro Tracks for the rear and some Pro Race for the fronts that i can swap in when needed

Renault in their infinite wisdom decided to stick with TRW calipers despite them being s**t for years

The car is still soldiering on as a daily, has now just passed 123456 miles. Great daily basher and B lane hacker. Keep toying with getting rid of it but cant really think of what to replace it with, its just a great all rounder. Another 25bhp would be nice but I've still got some ideas of a few more upgrades before upgrading the turbo again. I did try and get a track day video together, didn't go out for too long after there were a few mishaps so not much footage and haven't really shared, but here you go.

I got mine cheap afew years ago and they’ve not budged much but definitely worth the money IMO. Nearly had mine 3yrs now and will be keeping it for a lot longer

I'd love a MK4 Meg, they just look the tits on the road! Still really fancy a MK3 RS too, I think these have gotten as low as they will ever go, £6k for a nugget and strong £14k for a clean one. Even the MK2's are holding and rising now. Might just be the time of the year where nothing is changing hands so slim pickings are pushing the prices up.
I want to keep my MK2 225 and have done some nice bits to it but really dislike the look of it
I have the bits to make it look like a ph2 but the speedo is the only thing that can't be changed over and that's bugging me to the point of buying a R26 and putting all the nice bits onto that and scrapping the 225 or just start again and get a MK3... Then I see your posts and think the MK4 Clio is also underrated ands grown on me massively over the years.

Was in for its MOT on Friday, passed all good. Still a very good daily, am tempted to sell it soon though. Over 3 years of ownership is a long time for me...

So here's a funny one I need to investigate, driving home today and the car started to mess about. As it comes up on power/boost it feels flat and then starts feeling like its got a cv joint broken with the rumbling. I'm pretty sure its going to be ignition related (well I hope it is)
There are no stored fault codes at all which is odd. Almost like its blowing out the spark.
Will be investigating this weekend but as a precaution I have ordered a set of 4 coil packs and a set of plugs but for a Meg280/300 rather than a Clio. My thoughts being the coil packs are now on 126k and are old, I had to close up the gaps on my last mapping session (could have been needed due to the packs showing their age?) and the plugs because my engine runs the Megane turbo and manifold set up, for some reason the meg runs a different plug despite being a very similar engine. I've also not found much info on people having to close the gaps up even on modified Meg4's unless someone knows different?

I had similar issues on the blue 225. Car had been run up to temp a few times and not driven, as soon as it came on boost the engine basically just stopped/misfired like fook. Was spark blow on 4x cylinders and plugs a bit fouled/massive gaps.

Clio4RS runs a DILKAR7C9H Meg4RS/Alpine runs a DILKAR8R9HS so looks like a colder grade. That said I've been running gapped Clio plugs for years no known issues but swapped to the Meg4 turbo and manifold setup just over a year ago. Probably time for a check over anyway, I will take a look at the condition when I pull them out

Haven't actually updated this, slapped in some spare plugs after the above misfire, found plugs that definitely looked like they had gotten too hot. I do tend to beat on this setup not only on the road but on the track too. Id not pulled them for a while for an inspection.
Anyway, this weekend I slapped in a set of new delphi coil packs and some megane spark plugs, they are a step cooler. I've not re gapped them and left them at their normal 0.9 gap. So far all is good. Ill try some long hard pulls when its a little quieter on the road but so far there's no reason to close it up

No current issues noted with the megane plugs at their .9 gap and new coil packs, seemingly a win there. Need to spend some time on it really as its a little neglected, so a service kit has been ordered from RPD. I gave the head lights a sand an polish as they are starting to yellow and craze due to age. Id really like to get all my pipework in the bay re-made, keep meaning to get forge motorsport to sort me out but something always crops up with the other cars meaning i dont get around to it…

2015 Renault Clio 200 EDC Cup – 300bhp – £8,999
I've decided to put my Clio up for sale
I've owned it for around 3½ years and it's been my daily throughout that time, covering around 35–55 miles a day. I've also taken it on a few trackdays, so it's definitely been used rather than being a car that's sat in the garage.
It's a 2015 Clio 200 EDC Cup in Flame Red, currently on 126,000 miles.
I've been modifying and developing the car pretty much throughout my ownership, trying different things and gradually building it into what I wanted. The current combination of parts and setup has been developed over roughly the last 18 months, with the Megane 280 RS turbo and twin-scroll manifold being the biggest change.
It's currently running 300bhp, mapped by EFI Parts, and as far as I'm aware it's the only Clio 200 in the country running this particular Megane 280 RS turbo and twin-scroll manifold combination.
The turbo has a custom Forge Motorsport actuator setup, with the supporting modifications including:
For stopping and handling I've fitted:
Externally it's got a front splitter and Maxton Design side skirts. The bodywork is free from any major dinks or dents, but it is a 10-year-old car that's been used every day, so there are the usual marks you'd expect from a car of this age and mileage. I'd rather be upfront about that than pretend it's a concours example.
Inside I've kept things fairly standard. It has the Zoe AC panel, Android Auto and RS Monitor activated, but otherwise it's pretty much as Renault intended.
I've looked after the car myself throughout my ownership and have carried out all of the servicing, both major and minor. I've never really subscribed to the idea of running a modified car and cutting corners on maintenance — it's been maintained regardless of cost.
I've also sorted some of the known issues along the way, including relocating the battery to the boot and fitting a new battery within the last 12 months.
Recent work includes:
MOT until 29 June 2027.
Why am I selling it?
There's nothing wrong with the car and there's no urgent reason to move it on. I've just had the Clio for a good few years now and I'm starting to fancy a change.
I've owned and enjoyed RWD cars in the past and I'd really like to get back into something along those lines. The Clio has been a great car for me and I've genuinely enjoyed developing and driving it, but I think it's time for something different.
I'm also realistic about the mileage. At 126k it's never going to appeal to someone looking for a low-mileage example, but it's been a very well-used and well-maintained car. I've continued to develop it and spend money on it because I enjoy it, not because I'm preparing it for sale.
I'm asking £8,999.
If you're looking for a standard, low-mileage Clio, this obviously isn't the car for you. If you're looking for a properly developed 300bhp Clio 200 that's been owned, modified and maintained by an enthusiast over several years, then it might be worth coming to have a look.
