Feel like a change in HU as the Standard unit aint cutting it tbh...

It's something that aint overly expensive and looks pretty nice too.. I'm not into the whole amp sub game no more so what do you guys think ??

I had it in my car before mate, but decided to take it out as it just drew attention to my car, so couldnt be bothered to take the head unit out every time I leave the car.

Its a nice head unit, easy to operate, and heaps of good options, front aux, bluetooth (Although never used it) etc.

Not bad for the price, but Alpine range is better, as they're better build quality.

Is it not a "Face off".. TBH i dont wanna spend crazy amounts just the ability to use an MP3 CD will suffice and it has BT as well so i thought it would be better suited to my needs

Oh yh, it comes off mate. Little eject button in the corner. Just annnoyed me taking it out all the time lol.

I know someone who's selling one of these fairly cheap, I could possibly be able to sort something out. PM me if you like.

sony also do the 2600 approx £114.99 and the 2700 £139.99
pioneer do a similar unit which imo is much better quality 600bt £164.99
sound quality is far superior to sony

The 197s have a wider Facia on the HU. Do they have some sort of facia adaptors? Anyone changed one in a new MK3?

Fu*k didnt realise the 197 / MK3 has a wider HU face ! I'll prob get ra*ed for an adaptor too and i bet ya Halfrauds dont carry them as on the shelf stock

Would recommend this, I have the one down from it (Pioneer DEH-P6000UB, I think) works a treat with my iPod. Oh and pick up an Autoleads stalk adapter from Halfrauds, dont try an adapter from Car Audio Direct!

it is a din size hole but they for some reason made the front of the radio approx 5mm wider either side,you can fit it without but it leaves 2 small squares about mid height on either site exposed.if your not bothered about neatness forget the fascia

either a standard plastic or a "rubber touch" version is available-rubber touch is same feel as the dash around the radio

Ok so today i parted with £145 notes and picked up the sony i originally posted up, Stereo is really nice looking and the Bluetooth function works brilliantly, Couldnt believe my luck when halfrauds had the 197/MK3 face place too so my luck was in today lol.... Will post pics up later as at work and no way to connect iphone !!

Its defo value for money, I know Pioneer & Alpine are much better than Sony but because im not into the whole audio game no more i just needed something a bit better than standard and this fits the bill perfectly, £145 including the 197 / MK3 faceplate so not bad at all tbh
