Opps sheared a wheel bolt!! What do I do now?

After changing the front struts on my clio succsefully I stuck the wheels back on for a test drive.... and managed to shear one of them! Was'nt even putting much force on it either!?

Now how the hell do i sort this ?!

Nope, sheared just inside the hub.


Drill it out yes.... but can the thread be repaired or not?

Try a stud extractor first but i'm guessing you were going mad on it to shear it?

Can prove costly.

Stud extractor.

If not, either drill it out or new hub time!

weld a nut onto the thread, leave it to cool down the remove.

drill it out and get it re-threaded...at the worst will need new hub but they are pretty cheep from eurocarparts/scrappy.

use a stud extractor, bloody easy things to use. no damage to the thread

wheel, disk and caliper off and get some pliers or grips round the back of the hub and wind the broken bit through
