ordering cambelt kit, what else

going in on thursday to order the cambelt kit for my 172 just wondering what else ill need, does the aux belt come in a kit or just the belt?

is it a good idea to do the water pump at the same time like the 1.2s? or are they better designed?

Water pump should be fine, aux belt is another kit which comes with the idler and tensioner for that. You also want the core plugs for the end of the head for when you prise them out to fit the cam locking tool, and obviously you want the locking tools.

Works out to circa 300 sheets in parts the cvnts! iirc:
Cambelt kit £140
Auxbelt kit £110
Core plugs £15

or there abouts.

Renault also recommend you change the camshaft pulley nut and the inlet camshifter bolt.

You can get the aux belt kit with tensioner but not sure if it comes with the little idler. If you have no problems with the water pump you can leave it be until the next aux belt change.

Idler comes in the aux belt kit 100%, yeh can change the crank pulley bolt if your that way inclinded. Its recommended if its over a certain length and its a stretch jobbie, haven't ready about the cam pulley bolts though as you don't need to undo them i'd leave them be.

got the fancy thermal inlet manifold gaskets to fit with my matched inlets once the cambelts done im dreading doing it i hate cambelts lol
