Origin B2 - BLOODY RATTLES!!

Im sure someone has already commented on this but after lots of searching I have found nothing

I have today received and installed the wonderful b2 unit. Very pleased so far EXCEPT the bloody buttons rattle WORSE than the 182 itself!!

Have I got a duff unit or is there something that can be done to stop em rattling? (the top vertical buttons are the worst!).

Speak to Has (clio16vsport), he is the authority on them....he can get them for prolly less that you paid

Same here mate. I also found the magnets in the craddle rattled so I took that to bits and put a small piece of blue tak in there to stop it.

They do different facias for them now so Im hoping they do one with rubber buttons. I cant believe they didnt use rubber ones in the first place. Some people have no common sense. Do they even use their own products daily?

We know Has can get them for less but what happens if it goes wrong? A guy I would with blew his up after just a few months. Hes having problems because of who he bought it from.

Ah Lee, thats where I remember the blue tak comment!! I think the magnets are rattle-free ... although not 100% sure I suppose.

Cant believe it rattle worse than the 182 ... Origin really should be ashamed!!!

Not as much as Renault should. I have f*****g woody woodpecker residing behind me dash after just 1000 miles. Bag of sh*t.

Dont think they do covers actually ... just the personalised editions ("bespoke") which it looks like are complete units.

Hopefully Im wrong though!

Just to clear up matter my unit do come with full warranty, as soon as i receive the go ahead from Origin i will post up on here with my Authorisation code and status logo

I dont know if my B2 rattles, the sunroof/parcel shelf/wind noise/etc masks it if it does!

i took mine apart and smeared a little vaseline on the sides of the buttons and its never rattled since

I had to send mine back (kept losing satelites) but when I get it back may look into this. How difficult is it to open the unit (without totally fooking it up)?

its only 2 philips screws mate, behind the origin sticker on the back then it just pulls apart.

nah so long as you dont tear the sticker when removing the screws i dont see how they would be able to tell you had been in it

Originally it was the craddle that rattled on mine, so I removed it, took it apart and added a little blue tak. That worked, but nothing can stop the dam buttons rattling, and since I dropped it last week its even worse. LOL

Im still wondering if you can get a new case, and one with rubber buttons.

id be inclined to dab a tiny bit of silicon sealer on the back of each button that should stop it

i put a elastic band around the screen and the cradle and it has stopped it rattling

yer i touched the top of the origin whilst it was ratling and it stoped! so im thinkin its the magnets
