OZ F1 vs. 2118

  220 Trophy
At present I have a set of immaculate (refurbished) F1’s on my track 172 and a set of 2118’s for the track.

The F1’s have Yokohama Parada Spec 2’s on them and the original plan was to use these on the road and to get to the track and also for the track it was wet.

The 2118’S have 888’s on them and as we know are fantastic in the dry but as I found out a couple of weeks ago at Brands also surprisingly fantastic in the wet.

But the car is only on the road the odd 30 miles to and from Brands (and possibly 100 or so to Snetterton the occasional trip) so I was thinking about leaving the 888’s (on whichever wheel) on permanently and not have to phaff around swapping the wheels trackside, plus I could make a few £ selling the other set.

So, do I keep the 888’s on the 2118’s and sell the F1’s with Spec 2’s on which have only done approx 500 miles – in which case how much should I sell them all for?

Or should I stick the 888’s on the F1’s and sell the 2118’s and Spec 2’s separately?

Dose anyone know which is lighter, the 2118 or the F1??

Thanks!!

2118's > all.

No one bar the Stig and Sir_Dave will notice the difference in lap times round a track. ;)

To be truthful I’m not too bothered which looks better, if I kept them I’d probably have the F1’s done in dark grey or black with the 888’s on.

The F1’s are definitely easier to clean after a day on track!!

I’ve read a few other posts on here and apparently the F1’s are not that much lighter than the 2118’s but the 2118s are much stronger, so it’s six of one, half a dozen…

I think the 2118’s look a bit more ‘race-car’y and it will be a lot easier just to stick them on with the 888’s already fitted and I can just sell the F1’s as they are.

How much do you think I should advertise the F1’s for, immaculate condition with 500 mile as new tyres?

Thanks guys, I’m sure I wouldn’t bend them, but just my luck......

Am going to keep the 2118's and have just posted the F1's for sale.

See my ‘for sale’ post. They have a set of almost new Parada Spec 2’s on them and all wheels and tyres are immaculate therefore am looking to get a good price. I’m advertising them at £500 and am not in a rush to sell.
