Have done a search but only seem to come accross old ish threads. Currently ive got ds2500 on standard discs. Ive got Brembo HC discs so just looking for pads. Daily driver with the occasional trackday. Just looking for a cheaper/alternative option over the ds pads. thoughts please,

Dan

EBC Bluestuff - I'm using them on Brembo HC's and they're awesome! Superb bite straight from cold, and have had no problems at all with them :)

Can I just ask how are the DS2500's on standard discs?

Do they munch through them or hold up ok? That's what I am thinking of, but my current disks have loads of life in them.

To be honest they are very good even with my standard discs. Been on the car since I've had it, just over twelve months and coped well on track. From what ive just wrote it makes sense to get them again lol. Just looking for worthy replacements.

Cheers, appreciate that! Looks like I'll be running them on standard disks till they finally chew through them!

Mintex 1144 seem to be popular or stick with DS2500.

Have you used them on track? I've seen Bluestuff pads wreck Brembo HCs after a few sessions on track.

No worries mate. But to be honest if I were you id get the brembo hc discs off g172 on here. For the price i think you will benefit even more. Just a thought matey.

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
I'd go with Mintex 1155 for a cheaper alternative to ds2500's. Personally I prefer them anyway. 1144's are good, but really just a fast road pad unless you're running a stripped out car, when they'd do for ocassional track use.

1155's have been in short supply, but are getting restocked a bit more regularly now

I wouldn't touch blue stuff.

1155's are ok, but you certainly need to get some heat in them before they work at their best. If you are looking for a fast road pad then the 1144's work better though heavy track use will cook them. As brakes are so important i'd be spending the money on the DS2500's again.

I only do about 7k a year and at most 3/4 track days, next one being at Oulton in November, hopefully. Oh and aparantly i dont brake much on track lol

Mintex don't last long enough, 1144's are like posh greenstuff 1155's, last one track day if your lucky, same with the 1166's

Stick to you know what works - Ferodo

£125 delivered off the top of my head, not cheap but they work!

DS3000 are about 15% more £££ and even better

I'm not sure on the Bluestuff. I have heard some stories about them. But from experience, Yellowstuff are the best I have had. However, I haven't ever tried the DS25000's so not sure how they compare.

The problem with EBC is batch consistency. Its why they dont have quality control accreditation other manufacturers have.

Just get DS2500's again only doing 7k and 4 trackdays should see them last 2 years easy which would = about 60quid a year or just over a quid a week..

I still remember when EBC sponsored a series and most people in the series ended up painting their pads yellow

I have mintex 1144's and I think they are poor. I get brake fade from normal driving they are that bad.
