Pad choice

Currently running Carbon Lorraine in the 4pots, awesome pads, just cant get on with the dust they leave! So im removing them.

Will DS 2500 give me good stopping power, with less dust?

Thanks :)

I find ds2500 dusty compared to standard. Yes they give great stopping power and dont take as much warming up as carbon lorraines. These not bad for dust

This is after one 14 mile trip

If they are better than this, or easier to clean off, ill be happy!

not from experiance but from what ive heard its easyier dust to clean off, and no there better then that on 14miles, takes about 3days for mine to get like that, about 40miles

fook that is bad, ds2500 defo better. Im running the same wheels too, nightmare to keep clean but not that bad at all

I found Pagid RS4-2 good for normal driving. Hard breaking and it becomes a diferent story.

The ds2500's will have much less dust, and i never found fault with them over some very hard driving Ben. Will lock the wheels up at speed with track focused tyres from speed if you need to. Id find less than what you have after a weekly clean (on white wheels). I had brake cooling fitted, no idea if this will affect dust though.

I'd go Ferodo, I've got a set on mine and by god they are good when they are warm, using standard discs too. Several times I've gone into a sharp corner too fast and I've just had that vision that I've binned it but the brakes say otherwise!

What brakes is it you are running? i know it properly says in your thread or something but im lazy

I've used DS2500 on another car, and they are OK. For track work there are much better pads.

No-one seems to have come across these for a Clio yet, but I strongly suggest someone buys some AX6 or XP8 pads from http://www.carbotech-europe.com/index.htm They are great for the street and awesome on track when they have the necessary heat in them. Budget ~£230-250+vat for a full set, but they do wear very well and disc friendly.

No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer.

Did the best i could but it was still fooked.

The brake dust BAKES into your paint after a while. Dunno if its worth it!

alot of guys on the mk5 gti forum reccomend these carbotech XP8's for track work. and thats for a 1450 kilo 300+HP golfs, so they would be great on a clio

great pads, can be dusty and noisey. Never had any fade what so ever with them last trackday I was on

which compound are you running? The new RC5+ compound is so much better for dust than all the others..

it should be on the side of that box.. I don't think the RC5+ had come out by then so most likely RC5 or RC6. The RC5+ has a noticeable yellow tinge to the pad material. That certainly looks too grey to be the RC5+
