Pads "clacking"

Anyone else had this? My front pads seem to make a clacking noise in the caliper over big bumps. Only on the offside wheel mind. Drive over the same bump with the brakes on gently to take up the slack and no clacking noise.
Ball joints are good too have checked those

Are the pad anti rattle clips still in?

I had this problem on my old escort gti when I fitted after market pads without the anti rattle clips

As far as I'm aware they are but I cant remember without having a look, they were OEM renault boxed pads though
