paint match

  laguna coupe
hi just wondered what my options r i scraped my car down one side so i have had the hole passenger rear and passenger door sprayed its been in now three time and i though it might be third time lucky trying to match it but its not sounding promising it cost me 300 quid what do i say to them do i keep letting them try and match it or do i ask for my 300 back and take it else where it is getting really annoying now as i keep having no transport during the week is blackgold a pain to match

Did you give them the Renault paint code? If they can't get a match then they mustn't be a decent bodyshop tbh.

My 172 cup had to go back to a body shop 5 times! I was very pissed off but in the end it was worth it - The garage wasn't a s**t one too, they have sprayed the odd lambo, porche, V6 etc..... I paid 400 to have my rear wing and blended into the door done.

Reason it went back so many times was because they had just moved into the water based paints and were still getting the hang of them. also had some very small runs here and there but they were 'VERY' small and in places which people don't see.

Mate of mine had a similar problem with an R32 golf, in the end the garage just painted the whole car to save any colour match issue

Ouch, christ knows how they're managing that. We certainly wouldn't dream of handing a car back that didn't look right colour wise. Do they mix their own paint? If they blend it into the front wing (which they should have done too), I don't see where they can go wrong.

yeah think they have blended it in to front wing but its still a mile of they get some one else to match paint they said something about bricking the car

They could be using a cheap sh*t paint tbh. We have 2 paint schemes at work, one being a cheaper option, and it is absolutely useless at matching some more complicated colours like mine (gris boreal).

It's extra strange because black is usually the easiest colour to match.

Edit: What bit exactly doesn't match?

Black gold is a horrid paint to match up.

The flakes have to lie the right way in the paint else they look s**t.
