Paint on pad

This has happened a few times recently once on the bumper of a Ka (I reckon they had been colour coded by hand), the pad went purple, i think this was with a sonus sfx1 pad and menz ip.

The second occasion was when I was getting the oxidization out of the bonnet on the Landy yesterday, I was expecting the paint to be quite hard but the pad went blue, again using menz ip. I wasn't really after a correction on this vehicle just trying to get a shine on it.

In both scenarios was this down to a lack of clear coat?

i want to detail a KA dring the summer, and i inted to use it as practise. Should i bother?

Its a Landy lol, I had a go at that rear quarter, oh dear! I just don't want to go all the way through..

^ you wont with menz IP. Did you see how long I was working it on on the bonnet. The paint is very very hard

KA is a lovely car to detail very easy not to many curves etc.. Just the cumpers I did wernt clearcoated.
