Painting hammerite over hammerite (calipers)

Anyone had any issues painting hamerite over old hamerite ?

want to repaint my calipers a new colour, currently hammerite black......will the paint peel pr anything ?

sand it first, then ulo be fine

give it a good wash with fairy power spray, or active foam, something to get all the grease & sh.t off 1st..
