painting plenum

I have a colour coded engine cover and hate looking at the standard greyish looking plenum sticking throu the cover,so can you just paint the plenum with like amorite smooth black? What sort of finish would it be and would you need to do any sanding etc?Not looking to get the polished look obviously but just to smarten things up a bit

Well heres mine
got the bulk polished at a metal polishers in notts for £60 and the finer bits done myself with a dremel

I painted mine with hammerite smooth, may live to regret it

At the very least take it off to spray paint it....otherwise get it polished fella!

I painted mine with heat&corrision proof paint and polished the writing just to make it stand out more.
