Panel Filter for 182, worth it?

Hi, as per the title, is the Panel Filter (say the £35~ one on K-tec) worth it for the 182.

Whats the pro's and con's people are aware of? :S

You only have to clean it rather than buying new paper filters from Reno/Halfrauds every 12k.

Is there any differnce in inducition noise or throttle responce with one of these, compared to the standard filter?

when i fitted my itg the car did feel better but then again my old renault one was black:dead:

Doesn't make much if any difference performance wise, although if you want abit more induction noise, remove the acoustic valve.

Forget the acoustic valve just unplug the top air feed pipe from the standard 182 airbox - subtle induction noise and a bit more when you accelerate hard and the car feels more responsive and seems to accelerate quicker. Did this yesterday after reading the jms thread
And still getting 40mpg at 70mph
It costs nothing and it might just surprise you (also got an ITG panel filter fitted)

And if you upgrade the lower feed you get a bit more in both, noise and feel!

Panels are much worth it, flow better and are reusable, a one time expense.

You mite find that you lose a little mpg, had 2 and found that on both, had the ktr 1 with an exhaust and couldn't tell it was there but got a itg now with a decat and makes a slight induction noise.
