Panels under the 182

My other half washed the car on saturday and had a look underneath (not sure why), but he says it looks like there is a panel missing... He says there are all these panels and there is a panel shaped hole as though one is missing ... I am assuming these are under the engine bay area.

What should it look like under there, and what are these "panels" for ?

Maybe this is a really dumb @ss question, but I'd be grateful if someone could explain

if someone has pics that would be good- it may be that however it looks (I haven't been under there as it was cold and wet), is how it's supposed to be anyway.

are they the ones at the front of the car?

under where the foglights are?

they are part of the arch liner and can come loose

Yes I think that's where he meant as he was trying to clean the wheels at the time.. I take it there shouldnt be a gap then ?

If you were looking under the front of the car, do you mean the round plastic cover that you rotate and remove to reveal the sump plug?.

square I think, I'll have a look when weather gets a bit warmer - I'm not up for crawling around on the floor this time of year !!
