PAS steering Problem

I have a MK2 Clio 172 and there seems to be a lot of crunching / whining noises from the power steering pump area. A quick spray of WD40 solves it for about 5 mins then its back again. While driving i also get a high pitched whine from this area aswell. Any ideas??

Really hope someone can help?? and i really hope it doesnt mean a new PAS pump, if so anyone know how much one costs?

Bearings in PAS pump sound like may be fucked... so probs new pump... someone else will probs know more than me though

Change the fluid for starters IMO.

Yeah i bled and changed the fluid the other day, didnt seem to make any difference, maybe a permanent drip of WD40 into the chamber might work lol

Cheers for the link but i cant see that that is my problem?? The steering seems fine, it drives fine, its just the bleedin noise!!!!!

Has anyone elese had this problem??
