Patched PES6 (PS2) Oh yeah!

Recently got into the patching theme on Pro Evo Soccer 6 for PS2 after noticing this thread...

It was the new style balls which attracted me into it, to be honest, as I cant stand the ones in the game. Anyway, got it all sorted by following the instructions (took a while!) and borrowed my friends chipped PS2 (it has to be chipped or modded, or you could use Swap Magic for the new disc to work).

To cut a long story short, the new game is much better. I downloaded and added new bootpacks, faces, proper fonts for the names on the shirts, crowd chants (they now sing and cheer on your team, was playing Man United and it was awesome hearing the United chants - even though I was Spurs).

Anyway, all in all, well chuffed.

How does it work mate? Do you burn to CD and then put into PS2 or what?

Haven't got Pro Evo 6 yet, but if I can get all these details on it then I'll go and bloody buy it now!

Its damn confusing at first, Ad, believe me. But when you've done it once, it becomes a lot easier. There are so many help pages and questions on how to patch things on pesgaming.com (Editing section) or on http://forums.evo-web.co.uk.

You need to have a chipped PS2, firstly. Or a Swap Magic disc which allows you to play copied games.

Some of the tools you may or will require (again, you can get most of these on the above sites) :

DKZ Studio
ISO Buster
Apache 2.0 or DVD Decrypter
Sony CD/DVD Generator
Writing software (Nero, Alcohol 120%, Record Now ect...)

APACHE 2.0 TUTORIAL
===================

-Insert PES6 into your dvd drive (If u got an .iso ignore this)
-Choose your dvd drive with PES6 inserted from the drop down menu. For iso files choose the folder icon to locate your iso file.
-On the left hand side you see a list with a cd icon named "PES6" or "No LABEL"
"Right Click" this folder and choose "Extract All" option.
-I recommend u extract direct to C:\ drive. So location of the files looks like
this "C:\PES6 or C:\NO_lABEL"
-Wait until finish message appears and then exit the program


Applying the patch with DKZ Studio
==================================

-Open DKZ Studio
-Goto file then open the patch u got from this rar file
-You will see 2 files, 0_text & E_text these are gonna be applied to your extracted files
-On the top menu bar goto "Patch" then "Apply patch in folder"
-In the new popup locate the folder that was created when you used Apache 2.0 earlier
-The program may ask you to locate the files manually. This is no problem
just goto the location of your extracted PES6 files and choose the file
the program is ask yu for.
-Wait for changes to be applied then exit the program


Rebuilding a new iso file with CD/DVD Generator
===============================================

-Open CD/DVD generator
-Select "Create New project" option
-Select "DVD-ROM Master disc" option
-Click on the "VOLUME" tab. Enter Disc Name as "SLES_XXXXX" & License Area as "Europe"
("SLES_XXXXX" = your region number of the "SLES" file)

-SLES_54203 = ENGLAND
-SLES_54360 = FRANCE
-SLES_54361 = GERMANY
-SLES_54204 = ITALY
-SLES_54362 = SPAIN

-Click on the "DIRECTORY" tab. Now drag & drop the files from the folder u extracted patched with DKZ earlier. You must drag the files 1 by 1 or file order will be messed up not correct order.

File Order must be "EXACTLY" like this:

SYSTEM.CNF
SLES_542.03
NTGUI2EU.ELF
IOP (FOLDER)
NTCNFBIN (FOLDER)
ROMLIST.DIR
OVER.AFS
0_TEXT.AFS
E_TEXT.AFS
0_SOUND.AFS
E_SOUND.AFS
PES6NTSC.PSS
PES6PAL.PSS

-Now goto "FILE" tab "Export iml file". Remember where you save this. Name the file pes6.
-Exit the program


Make an iso file with DKZ Studio
================================

-Open Dkz Studio
-Goto "tools" tab at the top of the screen
-Select the "ISO Maker" tool from the list.
-Now all you do is load your pes6.iml file that you exported with cd/dvd gen
-Choose a save locaton for you new iso to be made
-Wait for changes to happen (5-8mins)
-Exit program and burn the iso with chosen software

Yes very confusing, but following the instructions not so bad.

Here is a simple guide with pictures on what to do and where to do it. Bear in mind this is for WE10 (the Japanese version of PES6) so a few things like filenames will be different.

Mine isn't chipped, so that's probably the first step!

Yeah you dont need to chip your PS2, you can use Swap Magic
