[PC/PS3/XB360] Blur

Anyone got the demo yet? It's an online multuplayer only demo.

I really wasn't interested in the game from the vids I've seen etc but after playing the demo I may be persuaded to get it.

It's like a mad mix between Mario Kart and Need For Speed with a perk system like COD:MW built in, ranks and levels etc unlock more "upgrades" as you progess.

I wasn't doing overly well as the people I was racing against were all like level 15 and obviously I was only level 1 so get messed up a bit untill I worked out what was going on and what the different "weapons" do.

Can have races with up to 20 people! Most that were in my race was 10 and that was enough carnage so will be mad with 20!

Obviously handeling of the cars etc isn't exactly realistic but if it was I think it would take away from the fun.

Anyway, thanks to the demo it's now on my "games to purchase list" rather than being not interested at all : )

and it's also got that bonkers RenaultSport Megane Cup Racer in it which is cool, not had a chance to use it yet though...

I didn't mention one as I thought it was out for 360, ps3 and PC, maybe it's not...:S

Yeah I managed to get hold of a Blur multiplayer beta key over a month ago now. I love the game, it makes a nice fresh change from playing Forza.

Yeah it's pretty cool you can drive around in a Megane and drop bombs and stuff.

I downloaded the demo, its certainly different.

I did enjoy the game, however. Had great online races, not sure if I would buy the game though.

Yeah I managed to get hold of a Blur multiplayer beta key over a month ago now. I love the game, it makes a nice fresh change from playing Forza.

Yeah I got an e-mail about a beta key but never used it as I wasn't interested in the game lol.

Was when I was bored I thought I'd download it for something to do, glad I did now.

Played the other day, was OK.
Reminds me of RollCage for the PS1 a little, Rollcage was off the map good though,

downloaded this out of the blue last night, it's oin 360 markletplace as a Demo now, it's wicked. As Lee says, mario kart with real cars.

Best racer I played for ages, Forza online was too fierce I thought, this is just a quality laugh, specially if you can get your mates in the same race too. 9/10 !

it is to a certain extent, I loved twisted metal too, however this is a race track rather than just a "free roaming" big arena like TM was.

They should remake it tbh as it was absolutley awesome, along with Vigilante 8 :approve:

I'm playing the Beta at the moment but I've just ordered it from Play (£24.99 btw) so should be playing the full game in a few days.

Yup, it's mental. Played for 3hrs today and every race had at least 17 people racing each time, brilliant stuff. 9 first places in 43 races for me, pretty pleased with that as I'm level 10 and most were 30+.

Game is really well balanced and requires a lot of skill to be finishing in the top 3 consistently.

My copy arrived today so it's out with the beta and in with some proper gaming.

Loving it so far.

Haven't tried that, I assume so though. I've given up on single player and just dived head first into multiplayer, aside from being able to win a few cars with pre-installed mods, there isn't actually any benefit to playing through the SP mode first.

I'm still amazed by the sheer insanity and intensity of 20 player races, the buzz you get when you win a race is superb.

I don't think it reports the number of players accurately. I've also noticed that the region settings don't seem to make any difference at all. I set mine to Europe and selected "My region only" in Multiplayer yet I end up with loads of yanks talking s**t all the time.

Not really. I've completed the first two challenges/people and messed about with a couple of the others but it's multiplayer that really interests me.
