pc virus problem

i was having problems with my pc yesterday.the windows updat keeps flashing with a red cross saying my computer is infected with dangerous malware.i have run full virus mcaffee scan which found nothing.i have run ad-adware bout 4/5 times and deleted everything it found...computer seems to be running ok now just keep getting the window popping up which wants me to buy spyaxe to protect my system..... is there anyway i can get rid of this window???

i have just read that this is a fake windows warning and a way of tricking u into buying their software.

Sounds like you've got some kind of spyware installed mate. Check your Add/Remove programs for stuff like "Save Now" and things that sound a bit fishy. Post in here what you find.

think i found problem and deleted should hopefully be ok now..

My dad had this very same thing yesterday.

I deleted the programme in add/remove but it still persisted.

Downloaded Micosoft Spyware Beta, did the job perfectly.
