Ali took me out in his z4m at the weekend and the acceleration is immense. Proper neck throwing back job. Although the cup is quick it doesnt come close.

When my friend at work had an M3 the performance difference between it and my clio was laughable. Trying it on with an M3 in a clio isn't worth the fuel!!
I do however get people trying it on quite allot. Lately it seems to be 3 series drivers who I assume think I'm in a 1.2 with a sport exhaust. The look on there faces when they can't lose a clio is priceless.

same here, thing is, I find other clio owners are the worst, my 197 seems to find every arse in a 172 possible. It seems the cheaper the 172 gets, the more the chav brigade are buying them, which is a shame.
When I first got the 197 I thought everything was having a go, now I just ignore it (unless it looks intresting). I would rather race something faster than "prove" something to a slower car.

I get alot of people egging me on in the Vee even at low speeds. With the QS Supersport exhaust it makes it even worse with all the popping and banging. The funniest thing I find is to let the VTR's, Gti's, etc rape the life out of there little motors while I go through the box in to 6th using no more than 2500rpm.........when they reckon they are doing well, I just drop it into 3rd, look over at them, smirk, and then its bye bye! lmao Great fun
Not a clio but my 1.5 yaris t sport gets every c**t and his wife on it round here, loads of chavs round here anyway but them they see a yaris and think 'grandad cars, easy victory innit laaa'. It's not mega fast but it's faster than your average car and VTRs etc. Don't always race but sometimes I will if it looks interesting like had a 1.8 Audi a3 try it, was even to about 40 then I eased past him slowly, he came to the petrol station with me and was chatting to me asking what I'd done to it etc. Like it when ppl take an interest and have a laugh about it.

172 is a nippy wee car, but not unbeatable! Knowing that tunability of them, i'd be more comforatble takin on a 172 than a chav'd up corsa or starlet etc! you just never know whats been done to them!!

i had a fiesta s try it on with me the other week, i just toyed with him speeding up then slowing down to let him catch up then speeding off again. it was funny when he thought he was catching me up till i dropped my boot and he realised i was just running rings round him lol
