I'm just curious about how many experienced problems with these systems? many say they crack, others are pleased.
So for the help/curiosity of others I'm trying to launch a few questions:

1) date of purchase
2) date of install on the car, mileage done with the system
3) problems yes/no
I'll go first:

1) april 2009- from k-tec
2) april 2009, about 15k miles since
3) no problems so far

I'm thinkin this could be a good buyer's guide also
cheers!

1) october 2010- ktec ultra with sports cat and centre silencer

2)covered about 1000miles

3)sounds good not to loud only problem is it grows when hot and moves to the right of the bumper cut outs!!

Think u miss the point.. This is almost a survey of miltek owners! I'm interested in actual user experience too.. Would like to know how loud people think the miltek is vs standard too..

sound wise you get a lot of reports around here. they are decent, louder than the original but not too loud. if one thing milltek owners are happy about is the sound they make

I went with Milltek despite quite a slagging from some who clearly had problems. I felt it was the 'heart' option to the sensible k-tec which only gets good reviews.

1) july 2010
2) 4th august, done 3k miles with it
3) very happy, sounds great. Needed a pretty large socket in the exhaust hanger to shove it central and i know i'm not the only one to have done this!

sound sample here:
in the day I got it fitted, no other mods to the car at that moment

miss read it first thing in the morning lol. would never have a milltek heard so many bad stories about cracking on the welds:(

Brought: August
Fitted: August 2010
Done: 1000 miles
Problems: None.

To solve the issue of it not sitting central after having replaced the mount the platforms that you attatch the mounts to can be squash and pushed side/side. Saves the needs for sockets/cable ties. I had mine cable tied and when I had my remap done at K-tec they had a look and corrected it and that's what they told me when I asked them to explain. They were puzzled themself why on some cars they fitted fine but then didn't on others.

Sounds great, not too loud, not droney on the motorway. Sounds better from outside the car! Comes with some beefy clamps too.

Edit: The exhaust will shift when warm as metal expands when hot.

1) date of purchase - July 2010
2) date of install on the car, mileage done with the system - 9/07/10 covered about 5,000
3) problems - None

System is really easy to fit and sounds perfect.

2.September Done 1000 miles.
3. Hmmm. It was fitted by the local garage and just isnt sitting right. I called up the place where i bought it and they recon it isnt fitted correctly but im pretty sure it is. Im going to take it to someone independant and see if they can help me get it sitting right. Sounds Great. Had a decat too but it was just too loud!

The Hangers were fine when it was fitted but now look wrecked as the positioning on the exhaust isnt central. AHHHH!

I had one of these fitted in late 07? I can't remember exactly, have done nearly 30k since on it. I did have a back box replaced under (lifetime) warranty free of charge after about 4months as the welds had cracked on the front of the collector boxes. As said before this was a duff batch, a replacement was delivered foc within two days and has been fault free. It's pretty loud with a decat but then so are most decat systems. Some other exhausts may be higher quality eg Supersprint, Orbisound, but I think the Milltek is bang on for the money.
I have the JMS pops and bangs remap aswell and I fapping love being a hooligan

so far it looks like 2-3 years ago there were some bat batches which milltek sorted nicely. keep on posting though to have a better idea :)

I know there are a number of failures, but want to know the percentage of them. this would be good for future buyers

Anyone else had recent problems with Millteks since this last post?

Interested to know. I desperately want one, cannot beat the sound in my opinion!

But the whole cracking palaver is putting a bit of a downer on it.

Cheers

  Looking for 182
1) Purchased September 2010
2) September 2010 install, I've done around 15-20k miles since then
3) Not a single problem with it at all

I've also had the centre silencer removed and the cat exit enlarged, resulting in:

yep, 08 sti systems - 5 broken, 1 R8 system broken, its not just the clios!

When was the last time you saw one have a problem though? As above, everyone is aware of the bad batch there was some years ago. I see you complaining about Milltek quite a lot, yet the majority of people on here have no problems and I can't help but feel you have a personal thing against Milltek because of quality issues which are no longer present.

To be honest, with a lifetime warranty, I don't really see an issue.

had mine on the car around 2 years, had it welded once about 8 months ago. sounds awesome without the cat. lots of cable ties helping it sit straight lol.

  KTM 990 SD / S60 D5
I have had 3 Millteks on 3 cars

VW Corrado 4 years no problems (decat)
Audi S4 3 years no problems (decat)
Clio 182 been on 3 months no problems. (decat)

Lots of mates have them on various cars no problems.

I think they are a quality exhaust system and the choice for the person who wants a nice sounding system at a reasonable price, you can live with these systems day to day even with a decat fitted.

  Dodgy one
Didnt need any cableties/ sockets on mine either ;)

If were doing vids n'all, i got a quick iphone vid the other yeaR

mine on 25k and 3 years on the car, no problems either. just the fact that when hot the left tail pipe goes off center and almost touches the plastic bumper trim :(
this happened after the 2,5" cat exit mod

I bought the car off Dean. Still sounds good! But I have now fitted a decat pipe to the non resonated system.
Think the Backbox baffles are slowly starting to go though as started to get a bit tinny/rattly (may be welds blowing though...not looked)
