Perspex Enginer Cover for V6

Anybody have the first idea how I can get one. Want to remove the covers and add one or two if I have to clear covers.

Betle bet would be to search th net for fabricators of plastic and see what they can do - heat from he engine could be a problem as the original covers should have a heat sheild
Wow! What a coinsidence.
I looked into that ages ago. Found a company who made the standard covers for the V6. I tried them as they would have had all the moulds etc. but they said they would not produce one offs for me.
Just saw a Ferrari today, and it had a glass engine cover with meshed air vents each side. Started me off thinking about this idea again.

What so they may make 2 ? It would look good I think. Its a bit dull really.

Ah that depends what dealer ... my garage is ...er very kind on those things.. and track days...
Dear Sir,
In our opinion we would not suggest using Perspex for this application. The material we used has heat resistant properties up to around 130 deg whereas Perspex will do about 100 and then only for a short length of time. Perspex does not have good enough chemical resistance or stiffness required across the span.
We unfortunately could not offer to sell you our part in the Smoothtex material as the design and tools are owned by Renault.

i agree, my brother owns a precision laser cutting company (custom dials etc whahey)who specialise in perspex/acrylic, i asked him, he said a big no no, as heat from engine would be far too great, may be ok for shows etc, but a really really expensive way of doing things!!! why not look into companys who offer painted/chromed rocker covers etc, they may be able to help?? hope this help
