Petrol Gauge gone mad...

I recently purchased a 2001 Clio Grande and yesterday the petrol gauge started being silly.

When turned on it went to the normal lever, but when turned off it moved up instead of down, after a bit of use it now points to my rev counter.

I was directed to this forum for advice. Does anyone know a solution?

Could be a faulty fuel lever sensor in the tank mate. Clio's are full of electronical gremlins lol

Im sure someone will be a long a bit later on with a bit more on the subject but thats what I would check. Also check all your fuses just incase maybe one of them have blown. If one blows it might affect a system completely nothing to do with the system the fuse was for they are odd cars
