petrol gauge wrong?

ive been without the dashboard dials for about the past 2 months. so my petrol gauge wasnt working at all, meaning i had to guess my petrol levels for a while.

ive fixed it now, got a new set of dials and fitted em, now everythings working again.
only i seem to have ALOT more petrol than i thought i had.

i hadnt put any petrol in for bout 2 weeks, i only put £20 in at a time so it should of been due a re-fill. but the new dials tell me i have 3/4 tank.

is the petrol gauge defintly always right? or can you make it re-calculate somehow?

Whats the arrangement of the clocks?

is the speedo in the middle, no rev counter, fuel on the right or left?

if its 3/4 tank see how much it takes to fill it full shouldnt take that much that should tell you
