Petrol light stuck on!!!

Just wondering if anyone can help. On Wednesday i drove through a puddle which turned out to be slightly deeper than i thought. The next day when i started my car after work my petrol light was on even though id just put £15 of fuel in. Also the fuel gauge as taking about 5 minutes to reach the fuel level. Any ideas would be well appreciated

remove the battery for 10 minutes and see if this helps

completely remove of can i get away with just the positive or negative?

just the negative. leave it off for around half hour if you can so everythings got time to settle down.

Thanks for the help on the fuel gauge problem guys. I tried disconnecting the battery but unfortunately the problem persists! Anyone got anymore ideas what it could be?

Sender unit from the pump is my guess mate
