Turbo'd lude, Astra
Sorry for this being a bit mismatched, i just copied alot of it from anther project thread i have going... im sure you get the jist of it anyway
Well the williams has gone.....
So here is my new vehicle, its a 2000 W phase 1 172.
Titanium Silver with 58k on the clock, totally standard.
There are going to be many major changes going on before FCS, the car will be complete and how i want it by the end of may
Few pics from when I first got home....
One of my mates rang me (aliengravy) and was desperate to see it so off i went, on the condition he would fit my headunit for me, anti thief stylee.
Here is one pic of it fitted
Side strips off and clear side repeaters fitted....
All renault badges etc removed.....
So now we started on the spraying.... i primered everything up, left James to spray lol.
Here are the results.
So the badges are now on and so are the side strips Well one side of them lol other side is still black plastic till tomorrow!
So me being impatient i wanted to get my car sorted lol
So out i sent my sisters bloke in the snow to start helping me remove the passenger side door handle!
Snow on top of the car lol
Totally f**ked my interior door handle though New ones on there way!!
And a few other pics of the colour coding whilst waiting for Lee to turn up...
And you can see from this pic the drivers handle isn't changed yet lol
Ok so a few more updates from this weekend!
The engine cover is painted....
And the phase 2 rear lights have been fitted, look so much better imo.... had to do a bit of rewiring though lol
So.... I have just found out that my lowering springs are on the way to me.... WOOOOO!!!
And my new door handles have turned up too Hope fully get them fitted this evening!!
So now fitted are the ph-quick stickers on my side skirts
Heres a few pics!!
So today was the day the interior and exterior door handles were fitted
Pics during and the finished product.....
Then after a good old wash and polish went out and took some pics
So thats one wheel down and 4 to go....
In Primer
Painted up
And now in Laquer
A few pics up against the car, this wheel will be going on tomorrow so will get better pics then
And the lowering springs......
Ok so one wheel is on, another finished... the spare wont have the oz racing decals on as i can't seem to find anywhere selling ones with just 2 decals they sell them in sets of 8
Heres a few pics, more to come later when the next wheel is on
[Content removed - Day]
And one of my oz f1's has got a massive chunk out of it on one of the spokes, our guess is that something got wedged between the wheel and he calliper and took a chunk out of it.... now on the look out for another wheel as im not 100% sure if my wheel isn't buckled.
Oh well the joys of owning a renault lol....
So one side is all gunmetal now
And the rim.... no pics of the pads as they got throw out before i could take a pic
Ok so this is how the afternoon went..... lol
Rolled up at James's at 2pm.... sprung on him i needed my silver vision bulbs fitted lol so off to work he went lol
This is before
This is after.... No more tango'd car for moi!!! :rasp:
Then we started the lowering process.... James didn't look too convinced after taking the first wheel off to find all bolts rusted and seized solid!!
Then with a mixture of James's brute force, the blow torch and the airgun, we managed to get the first 2 bolts off!!!
We then had the battle of the top mount, after breaking 2 reducer bits for the sockets and nearly rounding the bloody thing off we got it off..... just our luck it then started to rain but that wasn't stopping James... we battled on lol This is how the car was left lol
So then the cute lil dogs wanted to supervise.... Making sure James was doing his jobs properly lol!!
And the shock was now back in, just checking he'd done it properly again.
Repeated the process for the other side but in the process we hit a slight problem and had to go over to james's mums to see if we could find the correct spanner as the one we had was just trying to round off.... on our little drive there and back we bumped into a couple of people in a blue 106 trying to get it on, well this woman was clearly sucking this bloke off.... we couldn't believe it on the way there so on the way back we stopped next to this car and the lady in the car looked most shocked LOL.... on we carried with our journey after that lil bit of excitement.
So the other side was finished, wheels back on and ready to lower the car down Once lowered down this is how it looked
Then onto the back of the car.... this was reasonably easier than the front although being a renault it was still a lil bit of a bugger.
So here it went.... from this
And the finished pics!!!
A massive thankyou to James for giving up his afternoon to lower my car... it only tok 5 hours lol
Comments welcome as always
