Right! thought it was about time to share my build with everyone now it is under way!
About a year ago i went to Liverpool with two of my friends to pick up the little 172, i bought it off of a mechanic who got it from a person who didnt want to or couldnt afford to fix it. after a while of trying the bloody thing wouldnt start! regardless everything else seemed ok ish so it went on the trailer and i handed over £350!!!
here she is:
after a proper inspection i discovered a bolt missing from the upper gearbox mount (im sure many of you know the result to this!) so yeh, the gearbox was dead! i got on to finding a replacement. ended up going to Newport to have the box from a vandalized 172 which cost me £50. bargain.
it was at this point i lost my job and was unable to fund the project, due to money issues it was put on hold for about 11 months.... until now!!
In the last 3 months i have started the project back up and started by gathering some parts together.
I have also spend some time stripping it down as i will be practically rebuilding the whole car!
