Ph1 172 exhaust ports

Hi Guys,

I've got two heads here, a Ph1 172 with the big exhaust ports and a head from a 172 cup with the smaller ports. Is there any real advantage in torque or HP to using the Ph1 cylinder head?

Engine will be fitted with Cat Cam 421's and Jenvey ITB's.

172 heads have to big of exhaust ports.

When I'm doing head work port people I always tell them to get the 182 head and get that ported.

I will stick with the later head with small ports then, not going to start buying new heads as this motor only needs to last me a couple of years before I buy a decent one.
