ph1 172 gearbox repair urgent help!

basically the diff bearing or something in my box is dead.
need to get new box or recon this one ASAP.
im in north west (maninly manchester/southport area).

where c an i get mine done/buy new one/repair etc?!

im tempted just to get new car too

Try Matt at Renault specilaist breaker up in accrington he might have a box for sale I know he has a brand new one some time ago for £450.

Yep but he gets to many pms and dones't get on here much I don't think so best ring and ask for him he he;s not availiable just keep ringing back they don't seen to pass him notes.

£200 for the labours not bad its listed as a 7 hour job
£300 for trecon sounds normal then you have to add on the price of the broken bits so its a lottery what is broken.

CHOKED! Black diamond in warrington won't touch 172/182 gearboxes.

said the parts are too hard to get hold of and they cant offer a warranty on it cos of 'the nature of the car' so wont touch it al together.

found a couple of places. varies tho, £500 - £850 so far. got places in skem, southport, droylsden manchester and preston.

goin to get some prices from skem and preston on thurs when they have a look at it. fingers crossed! think the droylsden place supply reconned boxes at £450 + VAT.
