ph1 172 import question

just wondering on the phase 1 172's

i have been reliably informed that the phase 1's were only brought into britain in silver and that all the other colours

ie. mars, sunflower etc are imports

is it possible for someone to tell me if this is true and then if so if this increases the insurance?

doesnt matter. They arent imports, however they were only bought over by special request but were full uk cars. I think the data that surround ph1s will show this, the silver variety beign in the 1000s, the other colours barely a couple of hundred. Doesnt effect insurance at all.

Cant remember who told me this however, but pretty sure it was someone reliable like edde

Just check that Renaultsport.co.uk page as they list "uk" sold cars in their stats, non silver cars were sold as uk cars through Renault.

Mine has neither alloy bonnet or shift light.

The exhaust system is a bit of a cross over as I have 2 lambda sensors on my cat as per the Ph2 172!

bubbles used to have a sunburst yellow ph1 172 and that was full uk spec etc, not import, if memeory serves.

My old one was an import according to Renault, but was in fact bought new from the dealership where i work.

It had alarm, etchings etc etc.

A little bit, not enough to sway me for any other reason than I prefer that particular colour. I wanted silver for ease of maintenance after owning a dark blue car.

My flame Red was registered at Renault manchester, is a 2000X has no alloy bonnet but has the shift light.

depends on which factory the car came from, one supplied the alloy bonnet and shift light the other didnt, both came hand in hand as far as i'm aware.

As for rarer colours i'd say that they tend to go for a bit more
