Hi,

I hope you can help please, basically the issue im having is when sat at idle after a couple of minutes the revs drop and sits at 500rpm and ticks really loud then cuts out 30 seconds later, takes a few times to start then will do the same again a few minutes later, it also did it earlier as i was slowing down for a junction and just cut out, has plenty of fuel, Diagnotics check is not showing up any fault codes, the engine has oil but if im honest probably has too much oil, its above the max... Any ideas? Im thinking maybe ICV but the revs dont bounce up and down? any help would be much appreciated

check all your vaccum pipes are connected and air tight, it sounds more like somthing with MAP sensor , If it was the ICV they dont usally cut out, Then again it could be somthing stupid, is your airfilter in good nick, just a matter of ruling out all the obvious things 1st.

mine started to cut out at junctions, also had intermittent speedo problems. new speedo sensor has seemed to have cured all problems. £~25 from renault

Ahh, Its funny you mention that, the speedo sensor hasnt worked for a few weeks now, Completely died, could it be that?

And Kevsri - thanks i think ill check all the pipes today, give the throttlebody and icv a blast with carb cleaner and see how it runs

defo then mate, they probably get worse over time, mine would drop from 70 to zero then come back to life, did it four or five times before i changed it. 2 min job too, back of gearbox near manifold. in stock at most dealers.
