Poor update, drilled all the little brackets out of the inside of my car and removed a patch of sound deadening that i didnt do before. Then painted it black again :)

I also cut aload of metal out of the rear of the boot, used a pair of tin snips and it glided through it :) Didnt take it to the extreme so the boots not super flexy and also so my carboon boot cover would still fit.
Didnt get any pictures of this, so this scientific photo shows what was removed :p

I weighed all material removed today, and it was just under 2.5kg lol.

What did you think to ther RSR's on track.

They were brilliant! Once i got the pressures down they got even better. Really pleased with them :) Still running them atm and they are fine on the road too.

Good work mate, your carbon fibre panel probably helps hold it rigid too anyway. BTW if that's a spot weld drill bit you have there, i might need to pop round yours one weekend, i have like 2 brackets that need to come off lol. I need to cut my boot skin too, so many jobs, not enough time!

Also 2.5kg is like 2 and a half bags of sugar! fair bit of weight.

I just used a normal drill bit, it pissed it :) minus one bit where it went right through the car lol.

As for the boot skin its literally so soft.

More weight saving will be happening as it's pretty much free lol

That's the reason why i want to use a spot weld bit! LOL.

Yeah weight is everything, especially when you work out BHP per tonne. I think my car is now around 940kg with liquids and without me, 212.5 bhp, 212.5/0.94= 226bhp per tonne! Want to get down to 900kg, would give me 236 bhp per tonne ;)

hiya you know you wanted my wheels, one decided to make love to a kerb today after some diesel on the road so they are ruined now :(

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Also anyone know what the black lump of metal is under the engine mount? No idea what it is or how's its attached.

it's vibration damping/noise suppression. There's a bolt under the engine mount. I'll whip it off when it's in if you like

Only managed once, so wasnt to bad :p

Hopefully after cams mine will equate to roughly 200bhp per ton :)

Bad times :( was good to meet you the other day!

Glad you rate the RSR's as I am looking at getting a set for my track wheels. Another quick question where did you get the carbon panels from?

Fitted a new cable throttle today, what a pain! Ended up hooking it through with a old coat hanger.

Seems to off stopped the throttle sticking for now :) also my pedals sit level so result all round.

Thats what I intended to do, but i literally just yanked the old cable out with out taking much notice of where it came from

Just taken the car for a farmer country back road thrashing and it didnt stick once, fingers crossed!

Proper mans way of doing it, pull it out without even thinking about it :p

If you say your pedals are now sitting better sounds like it was stretched! So it was probably an old one on your car and almost certainly why it was sticking, good thing you changed it before it snapped!

Nope mines all open to the elements, I will probably wrap my manifold now my engine is out but it's never had it there and that includes on track and getting fairly hot too!

Looks great out on track. I do fancy some pins for my friont bumper for easiness/scenetrack points, but aero catches are pretty steep for me being on such a budget. The normal pins not do much good?

The thing is my bumper clips on the wings are pre tty broke. So the pins worked fine, until I removed the cable ties that held the bumper rather than bolts as the bolt holes are elongated for some reason. The aero catches work 20x better, I dont know if that's because they pull onto the pin, or cover more area. I agree they are pricey though :(

Tonight I swapped my white williams for some black ph1s and a ali bonnet plus some cash his way.
The white wheels were being borrowed my a mate with a 182. So he has the F1's for the moment. My other mate with the silver ph1 is now running the white williams wheels.

Few random shots.

I will run the F1's for Marham, then get them refurbed anthracite and put some nice new road tyres on. The bonnet will be fitted with aero catches and fitted later in the year :)

Good work Dan, little bit more weight saving;)How much lighter is the ally bonnet to the steel?
Its something like 6kg lighter, i may be wrong!
Also ill be hitting you up for the spraying of the wheels, hope thats alright :)

Also will get the grill sprayed as its noticeably different colour, at the North Weald meet i was told it look pink lol.

  ph1 172
Never noticed the difference with the grill tbh!
And yep no worries, will you remove the tyres and rub down/prep them?
