ph1 handbrake adjustment

  02' PH1 172
So i did a search and found out that the ph1's handbrake can be adjusted by taking the cover off and messing with the adjustment screw or something.. so i have take the base cover of my handbrake off, but still have the plastic bits on the handbrake itself.. and i have no idea where this nut/bolt/screw is to adjust it..

help for a doofus please :)

Some cars have the adjustment inside the car but most have to be adjusted underneath the car. Its a git to do. Its on my to-do list!!!!

My 'W' plate phase 1 has it on the handbrake lever inside the car. my old phse 2 '02' plate was from underneath.

On the phase 1 iirc it has a torx screw on either side of the cover over the handbrake. 10mm nut to adjust it

Ok I got that cover off with the torx screws and now I see two nuts that look like they are holding the handbrake plate to the car. i dont have to take the cover off the shaft of the actual handbrake do I ?

  Lots of Alfas
If its underneath youll need some decent torx keys, I borrowed some to put in my torque wrench as they were very tight to remove the shield. You will also need a deep socket to get at the nut.
