Sorry it isn't easy as such, but this will depend on your ability. I take the engine out, many others do it by dropping the subframe and there's one person who can do it in situ though I don't know how he does it. If you can't do it take it to one of the trusted specialists on here although it sounds like a bit of a bargain car for just the short term and a new clutch would just about double the cost you paid.

  .
You can do the job by lowering the subframe a few cm on the passenger side.

Just leave the bolts in, so that the last few threads holds it up. There is enough room to move the box over and get the new clutch in.

It isn't a job for the faint hearted, but it is doable with time and effort.

how much do mechanic's charge then per hour then? as ive done most of my work on cars before and never needed a mechanic haha

  .
I wouldn't go to Mr clutch, I have heard too many horror stories.
If you are brave do it yourself, if not then take it to a specialist.

It isn't a complete nightmare, but you have to know a bit about what you are doing.

There is a guide on this site somewhere.

Dan@SJM is highly recommended mate as he is a specialist and knows Renault Sports like the back of his hand. You won't find cheaper for a proper job either.

where is he based as the car in outskirts of swindon and have no way of getting it anywhere as it has completely had it :/

I'm based in Glastonbury, if you haven't already had it recovered you can get it recovered under a break down policy, as most higher policy's have the choice to take it to a garage of your choice

For the money you'd save by taking it to Dan, be it because it will be a proper job and won't go wrong any time soon or the fact he offers ClioSport members a better price, it may be worth paying to have it towed/renting a van if you're unable to use your breakdown cover.
