Ph2 sport not starting midday on a track day???

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem. I did a track day on Monday and half way through the day the starter motor would not work. I was able to bump start the car for the rest of the day (with the help of the lafs) and there where no other running issues. I noticed the starter is right next to the exhaust manifold could it have possibly got so hot and cooked the starter motor??? Im hoping its just a case of changing the starter!Has anyone else had this problem, if so could you help me out.

Sounds like starter ! Have you tried it since the trackday ? What happens when you turn the key? Does it click or nothing at all ??

Easy for the solenoid to overheat due to where its sat, sometimes when cooled down again they work for a while but normally once its happened once it ends up failing totally not long after.

You want to also look for the starter heatshield. If you require a second opinion, I'm just down in Street.

This used to happen to my cup racer after a 15 lap run it wouldnt start, I fitted a heat shield to the starter and it solved the problem
