Phase 1 172 areal ?

Hi

I decided to change my Ariel on my phase 1 for a bee sting one, however I have just mullerd my old one taking it off and the type r Ariel I bought off here it replace it with doesent fit I.e the thread is a couple mm shorter so it dOesent wind in ? Does anyone know where I can get one that fits or a solution , the guy assured me this would fit when I bought it !

They do a aerial in halfords that fits just fine.

I have managed to get a rockshore ariel as someone recommended, it's a great web site, has many different options, now to find the seller who assured me the type r ariel would fit my car lol,

Problem 2, my new rockshore aerial arrived today and I fitted it, however now I don't get a very good reception. The only thing I can see that could be better is that the thread is not as long as the original. Does this make a a contact ??

Afte fitting my bee sting aerial, I've decided it looks chavvy and cheap. My phase 1 has a 6mm thread, I'm looking for something that's got an oem look, roughly 20cm long and is just a small replica of the original. All the ones I've found have a no noise antenna on them so it's got swirls on the atenna part rather than just being straight and normal. Has any one got a link or an idea where I can get something like this, I've spent hours looking on the net and can't find anything !
